Details

Like a balance ball for children, our Large Tactile Cushion supports posture, balance, and focus all at once—making it a valuable resource for classrooms, therapy settings, or home learning spaces. This versatile cushion offers the combined benefits of a gym ball, wobble board, and sitting disc in a single, child-friendly design. Covered in soft spiky textures, it provides tactile input that many children find soothing or regulating, especially those with sensory processing needs.

Designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, the cushion can be used while seated to promote core stability and improve posture, or placed on the floor for balance training during standing exercises. Its extra-large size (60 cm diameter when inflated) is big enough to support two children sitting or standing, or a child lying down. The tactile surface promotes sensory feedback, while the slight instability of the cushion encourages muscle engagement and active sitting. Lightweight and easy to inflate using the included hand pump, it’s also simple to clean and store between uses. Whether you're setting up a sensory corner, supporting focus during seated work, or incorporating movement into your daily routine, this cushion delivers functional, flexible support.

multiple uses for autism

I trialled this cushion with two non verbal students with autism , I found in prone lying that both students could relax their lower backs and hips , find connections through their core all the way to their toes and fingers in jelly fish/star through their centre and soften long standing hip tension habits.
hip tension . Both students loved rocking their hips and developing weight shift and they both relaxed.
with another student with very high functioning autism he loved sitting on it and then standing on it for balance training.
very excited to add this tool to my repertoire of ideas for posture and emotional regulation . Families want one immediately for their homes so ordering more today !!
